The life span of a gear box often lasts several decades. Within this life span the expected achievement potential will often change.
A rise or change of performance parameters does not necessarily entail a replacement by a larger gear box. Often enough the drive unit can be expanded or upgraded at a reasonable price.
An upgrade may result in either different additional units or an exchange of single assemblies like e.g. the increase of the cooling capacity through enlarging the internal coil or by adding an external cooling unit for temperature control of the lubricating oil.
With an important plant where there must be no downtime at all, we can retrofit new monitoring elements like pressure switches, temperature and flow controllers for lubricating oil, or particle counters in connection with the filtering units, or even complete modular oil lubrication cooling units.
